roses

I have been going round trying to bring a bit of order to the garden over the last few weeks.

For a coupleof years for various reasons I've let it go a bit wild.

This rose is the first plant I put into the garden when I moved in. It's survived being moved (twice), being trodden on and pretty much demolished by the builders and being left to its own devices. It still produces masses of flowers on long arching stems. I think they're almost too red to be real!

This year I've tried to tie it in to the fence and the pergola, and once the first flush of flowers is over I'm going to cut it back quite harshly so I can have it growing more where I want it rather than where it wants to go!
