Blimp hunt!!
Edit A blimp, or non-rigid airship, is an airship without an internal supporting framework or keel. -Wiki
The weather was exactly as forecast and at precisely 4:00pm it started raining! Dare I mention that my garden could do with a good watering!
Still hadn't found a good blip by late afternoon so after reading in my local paper that a blimp was supposed to be flying over nearby Spittal hill I went in search of it. It was due to be in the skies at the site of a what could be the country's biggest windfarm and was a stunt arranged by objectors to the proposal. It's purpose was to demonstrate the height of the upper tip of the turbine blades.
I never saw anything that looked like a blimp (probably it was there earlier in the day) so settled for this blip of lambs frolicking in a field close to an existing wind farm not far from Spittal. They don't seem to be bothered one way or another! It was interesting that as I returned home over the road nearest to the proposed site I came across more posters supporting the wind farm than opposed to it.
Personally I quite like to see windmills and am all in favour of greenpower. But ...... wouldn't like then right in my back yard.
