ironing out the creases.....

my sister once said to a very old uncle 'you need to iron your face'....... nowadays there would have been laughter.... but she only got frowned and tuttutted....

anyway I remember being allowed to iron hankies with the old iron..... it was warmed on the stove and you found out it was hot enough by spitting on it...... great fun for a little girl....

when I tell my grandson about these things he looks at me admiringly..... oma you're from 'the olden days........' he said once....

far prefer todays version though..... am all grown up....:):)
