Why so serious?

Oh, that's why. Poor kid, she looks so glum with the cat on the scales, imagine her heartbreak when the damn creature ate too much and fell right off!

On a more serious note, mother is gutted. She's had this ornament for YEARS and a few days ago it just snapped with the aid of an over-exuberant fluffy duster :(

Super-glue to the rescue!

In hindsight I'm thinking maybe she knew this was going to happen and struck the appropriate pose for when the time came...
