Sleepy Cherryblossom

Lobster.

I decided that my back was good enough to go out and about last night and met Mrs D, my sister and Andy at Axolotl for a new exhibition opening. We know Christine Clark and love her work so it was great to see another of her exhibitions. Mrs D and I were also invited by our old friend K to see her boyfriend - Paul Mowat's - work which was really outstanding. Am most jealous, I think I'm going go have to go back when it's quieter and spend proper time gazing in wonder and envy at their paintings!

There were some other slightly odder things going on too - a room that was a camera obscura (Mrs D and I thought it was Edinburgh Castle until someone told us it was the image from outside projected upside down on the wall - yeah, we hadn't quite grasped the concept...) and some very strange ladies dancing rather energetically in the window to convey the them of Altered Images. Yes. Umm.

Afterwards the four of us went for dinner at a wee Italian place at the bottom of Broughton St. Mrs D and I had lobster linguini - not realising that we would have to crack bits of it open and dig it out before eating it. I've never done that before - it's very messy! We felt like hunter gatherers.
It was a good meal with good company and I was home resting my (now rather anesthetized with vino) back by 11pm. Perfect :)
