I saw a mouse!
"Where?"
"There on the stair lectern"
We've been spring cleaning at St Michael's today. One of the things I gave a little loving attention to was our lectern - a beautiful, fairly simple piece which was given to the church in memory of a couple who both died in the first half of the 20th Century. It was made by "Mousey" Thompson of Kilburn, North Yorkshire - whose work (and the work of the company that is his legacy) is characterised by a mouse carved somewhere on every piece produced.
I think it's lovely.
The red floor tiles aren't always that shiny, btw - they'd just been mopped!
