Painting the Post Box

We had a lovely evening yesterday celebrating my niece Dionne's 18th birthday with the family and then, this morning, meeting my nephew's adorable golden retriever puppy.

A drive via the scenic route through beautiful country to the boat where the skipper did important things like fitting the rope cutter and the heater exhaust pipe while I got rid of some of the dust and began fitting the canopy, dodgers and jack stays. We'll go back to do more tomorrow.

Meanwhile, we are enjoying the hospitality of Alison and Roger who have a new house nearby with a spectacular view. We had a lovely walk in Shian Woods where there were lots of bluebells among the oak trees. A very calm evening and we heard a grasshopper warbler which sounded like a .... grasshopper - memories of a holiday in Corfu.

The photo was taken in Fort Augustus where we had our lunch beside the locks and were amused by the painted post box.
