Inarticulate Boy Wonder

The Bonnie Banks

Looked like the forecast was going to be wrong for today - it was clear, dry and warm (what do the weathermen know?). We'd decided to climb Conic Hill near Balmaha, so once we were organised we stepped out the house ... to be bombarded by giant hailstones (I got the feeling that somewhere, there was a weatherman laughing at us).

Not being put off by a mere hailstorm, we drove the short distance to Balmaha on the east side of Loch Lomond. As we reached the car park at the foot of Conic Hill, things had progressed to a full blown thunder storm with flashes of forked lightning (Mr. Weatherman is in hysterics by now). After the rain subsided, there was still quit a bit of thunder and lighting going on. As I didn't fancy becoming toast, I recommended we don't climb up an exposed hill so, instead, we walked a couple miles along the loch to Milarrochy Bay where I took this picture ... right before it started to pour again.
