Lilies of the valley emerge
The tradition of the Mothers' Day at least in Finland is to pick wood anemones (Valkovuokko) to the mother to decorate the breakfast table. Lilies of the valley (Kielo) would be even nicer to pick, for their fragrance. This year they had just emerged from the ground, and the buds of the flowers were not yet visible. But the promise is there: in some two or three weeks the white flowers are ours to admire and smell.
