Quintessentially English?
What a lovely day I have had :-)
A pleasant time with coffee in bed reading the paper ..well guardian online on my phone.. followed by my favourite breakfast.. eggs and mushrooms. (I shall not dwell on the panic when Diarm discovered the bathroom radiator had sprung a leak and flooded the new bathroom .. we are both incompetent at DIY and it did take a bit to sort out isolating it but well done to D - I dont want to think about having to get another plumber!)
After some exercise we faced Tescos to buy birthday presents for my youngest who cannot really be 27.. I am sure I am in a timewarp.. and called in to see my father - who equally cannot be 86 but is.
Yesterday I did the Christchurch food festival with my other daughter ..yikes nearly 29!.. so, as Diarm is the foody, I had to do it again but its always best at the end of the day when bargains are to be had.
Having grabbed a takeaway coffee we intended driving to the Quay but stopped en route to watch the final few overs of the local cricket match. We have walked past lots of times but never stopped. While I dont pretend to understand the sport we had a very pleasant time sitting on the grass watching and we still managed a swing around the Quay before heading home. We do live in such a lovely place,
I hope you have all had a good weekend too.
