Taking my first steps ...

I am defined by the people in my life and the things that I love. One obvious interest of mine is animals, and more specifically dogs.

This is a picture of my current dog Shasta. She is a 3 year old pit bull, boxer terrier mix and she has enough personality to entertain you for life.

I also have a domestic long hair cat named Booger that lives the adventurous life of an outdoors cat.

Apart from the animals that I own, I also dedicate time on my weekends to volunteer as a dog walker at a local animal shelter. It has given me new insights into how I treat and interact with my own animals as well as a truer image of the animals that reside behind bars in the shelter.

So, again I say, I like animals. I don't classify myself as an animal person, or animal lover strictly because I do not enjoy the company of ALL animals but animals do genuinely interest me, even if I don't ever hope to own them.
