Safe Hands

If you're on your first outdoor climbing mission, feeling a little apprehensive, this is the man you want holding the other end of that rope.

Those of you familiar with the journal of 'Me, Myself and Catherine' (and if you're not, you should be!) will recognise her husband Chris from many heroic climbing shots. Today he was instructor for the climbing muppet - me!

We've been friends for a long time, and all try to share our passions and hobbies with each other as much as possible. Chris and Catherine had selected a climbing venue, brought along all their gear, and set about creating roped routes for us to have a go at. It's apparently quite a serious business making sure that your amateur friends don't come to any harm and nobody appreciated Chris's efforts more than me today, when he was the only thing stopping me landing on my head at the bottom of a rock face!
