Shaky morning

Christchurch was shaken awake at 3am with a 5.3 shallow (15km deep) quake. it seemed to go on for ages and the house really shook. You can see on GeoNet what the day has been like. The 9am one seemed to pick up our building and move it 10 centimetres to the left. Most people said they hadn't got back to sleep so a few tired souls today.

Thanks to Sam and Ash for being on Blip around 3.15am this morning NZ time (they are both in UK) and for "chatting" to me via Blip when I couldn't get back to sleep - appreciated that a lot!

It was a glorious autumn day. It has had a pleasant ending (well its only 7.25pm but...) with me having a lovely facial then coming home to a delicious penag fish curry cooked by Dave.

These are the flowers mum brought over at the weekend - the genuinely last of the summer roses! and some vibrant chrysanthemums.
