Crabwise at St Luce

The funniest thing: sunbathing on the beach and fellow pioneer L draws my attention to two crabs further down the shore. She had already been watching them a while and after she drew my attention, so did I.

This crab kept trying to come up out of its hole onto the sand. It would have barely emerged when the other would run at it, so that it dashed back down. Whereupon the second crab would fill in the hole! We watched as this cycled on repeat for 5 minutes or more. With the later addition of a third crab that would assist the second to chase the first, then turned on the second and chased it down a hole, and yes, swiftly buried it.
