Lessons learned...
Ignosce mihi, Pater, quia peccavi.
It has been nearly 3 weeks since my last run.
And it felt like it, although not solely down to the lack of running...
Standard route today, up Arthurs Pike in a very fresh sou'wester.
Not a bad run to the bottom, and despite not running recently and having the wind coming straight down the hill, I managed to get up non-stop. Partly helped by looking round at one point and seeing two other fell runners down below coming up!
Throughout the run my feet seemed to be struggling a bit. Even had to stop twice to take a shoe of, as it felt as though my socks were crumpling up and rubbing. And my feet were moving around a bit more than usual, which made descending very uncomfortable.
Despite the rain we've had over the past few days the ground felt harder than I'd expected too. Strange goings on...
Anyways, got home and as my ritual dictates:
1st - ciggie lit;
2nd kettle on;
3rd chuck shoes into the backgarden to dry/air.
No probs with the first two, then took shoes off, always take the insoles out and chuck them into the garden also. However when vainly trying to extract said insoles, they weren't for budging. Had a closer visual examination of shoes and I wasn't surprised I couldn't get them out... I hadn't even put them in...
Back to the picture, that's the Cop Stone on Moor Divock, 200 yards from the start. (Blencathra just to the left of the stone, in the far far distance)
