Goodbye Neighbours from Hell pt 2

In December 2009, our next door neighbours, a lovely old couple who made their house a home, moved out. Within weeks, they were replaced by a young woman with her young daughter, a social landlord tenant via the local council.

The months that followed were a nightmare: late night parties, police call outs, angry confrontations. It took us months, but we managed to silence them.

I even wrote a blog about it: you can read it by clicking herel

They haven't been in for months, which has been good. This weekend, there was activity with various men shouting and swearing as they attempted to move the young lady out. It went on for a few days. Apparently last night they were setting off fireworks before they left. Thankfully we were out at Chiquitos! It appears they took any stuff they could keep, but were gone for good by early evening.

The tenant was heard bragging to neighbours that she only ever used the house as a "party house". The secret Daily Mail reader in me would say that our taxes paid the rent on that "party house".

The most disturbing part for me is that her 2-year-old daughter was apparently present at all of her parties, being kept up until 5am on some days. We did communicate something about that to the council in our correspondence, but we don't know what happened. We thought we saw a social worker at one stage, but don't know for sure.

Anyway, today a team of men came in to the property, cleaned it up, mowed the lawn, turned off the utilities and put the sign up which I have blipped.

I am glad the property is going on market with an estate agent, and not going to auction. If it went to auction, then it could go to a buy-to-let and then again we could get bad neighbours. Hopefully if someone buys it for themselves they will look after it.

Just glad we can put the last 18-months of these nightmare neighbours behind us.
