The Swallows Have Returned

Right about here, the water rises to the surface to create a little wetland. Sadly the much needed path covered much of its richness. But still to the sides of the tarmacing, pushed to the margins the wetland gives life. Each year it seems fewer and fewer swallows return. And then again, swooping low across wetland and tarmac, a swallow.
