The Cardinal
Spent another couple of hours on the commons today in my quest to teach myself more wildflowers. I found a few new ones including heath milkwort and yellow pimpernel. There were quite a lot of damselflies around (mostly large reds) and I also managed to photograph a scorpion fly. However my favourite today was the cardinal beetle. This is the black-headed cardinal which I believe is slightly scarcer than the red-headed one although I only saw the former.
