Aquilegia formosa

I grew this aquilegia from seeds bought many years ago at Inverewe Gardens in Wester Ross. I love the colour and shape but have to be very careful they don't interbreed with other types.
If you were puzzled about yesterday's pic here's the story.

Ninewells hospital in Dundee kept black bees for doing some research into how pesticides affect bees (I think that was it, there may be other things, too) but someone stole the hives from outside the medical school. A bit more mundane than my vision of busy bees around their research stations!
