Petticoat Lane
Still the best market in London to find bargains.
The 'rag trade' aspect to the market arrived with the Huguenot weavers in the mid 18th Century, continued by Jews fleeing Eastern Europe in the late 19th Century and now populated by Asian traders.
The market occupies streets linking The City with Spitalfields and Whitechapel.
Today I met a friend for lunch at The Whitechapel Gallery and saw the Paul Graham exhibition.
I was slightly baffled when he won the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize last year, but now seeing a retrospective of his work, i 'get it'.
