Lime Hawk

Lime Hawk - Mimas tiliae
This one was brought in by my neighbour. He wanted to know what species this was. Unfortunately it's left wing is damaged. I've put it in my garden on a cotoneaster this morning. Now, (22:00 hours) its still sitting there. I doubt if it still can fly.
