Waxing Gibbous Moon
Tonight crater Copernicus was a real stand out visible on the left at center. It's crater was formed 800 million years ago whose rays spread over 600 miles across.
It's about 60 miles in diameter and 2 miles deep, twice the depth of Grand Canyon and I doubt there is a river at the bottom. The crater Plato is the dark crater directly above and size of Capernicus. And that's tonights astronomy lesson, class dismissed. Have a good friday all.
