Mushroom - Can

It's beena long day today. Roz was down in Kelso visiting her granny and I've been stuck on the couch turning 98 photos of dancers from last Monday into silhouettes. Thank goodness for the new laptop or it would have been like pulling teeth.

Due to spending so long on the laptop I wanted an easy music blip rather than doing one of random ten songs from iTunes like usual. Roz pointed out that teh Jesus and MAry Chain had a song called Mushroom, which reminded me that so did Can. I opted for the Can one since I could find it on youTube.

They were a hugely influential band like many of their German contemporaries. Acts like them, Kraftwerk, Einsturzende Neubaten, Neu and last but my no means least Manuel Gottsching still don't sound too dated today. Can were probably regarded most for their intricata rhythim patterns which inspired a techno producer in Edinburgh to pince their album title Ege Bam Yasi as his stage name.

Unfortunately Mushroom wasn't too keen on posing so the resultant photo is a bit blurry.
