Okay, contrived I admit.

Today I was in search of a picture that linked the spiritual energy that Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz (authors of On Form) name as one of the four (the others being physical, emotional, and mental) necessary to turn up to the things of life with energy.

They are thinking of this in the broadest terms of beliefs and values. When we connect with these we find motivation, which emerges out of character, which is where we find courage, conviction, sacrifice, hardship, out of which grows compassion, commitment, integrity, and honesty.

Motivation is what makes us do something today.
