Mr Grumpy

Another heron. This one was on an island in the River Don, quite close to Sheffield City Centre,. It was trying to take a nap, but was being disturbed by a noisy group of feral ducks, who where making a racket. I just had time to get this disgruntled expression before the head went back under the wing. Always plenty to see down there. Today, lots of sand martins, grey and pied wagtails, a wren, assorted mallards and a good number of house sparrows and goldfinches. Off to a wedding tomorrow, so not sure how that will turn out as I don't do photos of people - in case you hadn't noticed. Running a bit late, so will try to catch up with everyone over the weekend.
