Penthouse Suite!

Walking along the common I came across this redundant harbour beacon pole which has been converted into a bird perch and nesting platform for birds of prey. The plaque at the base states it has been sponsored by the local BP Oil Terminal, but a couple of locals I stopped to chat to had never even noticed it!
It pays to look UP and hopefully one day I'll see an owl in the nesting box or a peregrine on the platform!!
