Wide Firth over Crookness
I headed up to Firth and the hide at Cottascarth. On the way I got a lift from an RSPB pal who told me that there was a family event at the hide and it might be hoaching with bairns. Oh well. As it turned out, there were only a few as the weather was pretty poor. We saw hen harriers, short-earded owl, sedge warbler, great and arctic skua, and I saw a cuckoo twice. The kids were unfazed at the rain, good on them.
I had a walk along the Dale of Redland and saw more birds and took this photograph, but the rain was frequent and I wasn't sorry to head back home.
