Rakaia River Kayaking

I did the white water section of my kayaking course on the Rakaia River today. It's a truly beautiful river and a great day.

I had two unplanned swims, got spat about in a few rapids, my nerves are shot to pieces .... and I can't wait to go back!

I discovered being upside down and getting out of the boat (I don't know how to roll yet), isn't that scary or difficult. Swimming to shore while holding a paddle (don't let it go under any circumstancess) and towing a 5.2 metre kayak in a fast flowing river of 125 cumecs is completely terrifying!
