Roadtrip Day 2: Wellington and Ferry

InterIslander Ferry, somewhere in the Cook Straight

We spent the day in Wellington City under beautiful blue skies. Great little, cultural city. Really enjoyed it. Explored the waterfront and city center area, had a nice chicken burger at a hippy burger shop, ate gelato on the beach at Oriental Bay, then caught the late afternoon ferry across to the South Island. Camped the night in Picton.

Campground review for Wingpig: Alexader's in Picton
Not recommended! It has a railway bridge running right over it so you can expect a few whistles overnight. We also had heaps of possums scurrying around in the bush and making noises. Try someplace else.
