It just sort of clicked.

Plum cake...

... won't minister to a mind that is diseased, in a world where trains are crumbling to pieces.

Well this is my supper.. my sisters cake in an attempt at boosting morale. Yet again more problems with my train today... I've gone from the extremely disappointed and frustrated state to an incredulous one... is there ANYTHING left to break on my train now?

If you're interested... I fixed the problem with the field control circuit (chuffed, was quite easy in the end)... managed to disconnect the chassis from the field (been bugging me for ages) and it helped with some interference but still got some more when the engine was running. Tried some capacitors which did absolutely nothing. New carb works nicely without even being tweaked yet (great!) and then went to try the engine again when I noticed the ammeter (thing that measures the amount of traction current) wouldn't turn on, after probing it with the meter it appears that it has died now too. trouble is, was it because of something I did? or was it just general wear and tear over the last few years and I am just being unlucky at the moment? a new one costs about £50... hmmm might just make my own instead... but yet again I'm having to fix something that was working perfectly for so long and I was happy with it... when do I get to play with my train as opposed to fixing it?

I guess the journey is part of the fun... but after four years of 'fun' now I just want to play or at least have a few days where it all works before something else breaks...

oh well... I know I have nothing to moan about... but I do feel like someone is testing me to see how far I can be pushed... *blinks*
