Good Old Fashioned Punishment

Last night, Emma suggested a trip down to Southsea Castle today. After a quick look on the internet last night, I discovered that it had only just opened yesterday following a refurbishment. This attraction is now free of charge and allows visitors a free reign around the site before tucking into a nice sandwich and coffee at their newly opened coffe shop.

Looking around, we spotted these stocks. Built in mediaval times, the offender would be placed in these and would be subject to public humiliation. Depending on your knowledge of history, offenders would also be pelted with rotten tomatoes, eggs and other rotten goods. Oliver certainly got the message not to misbehave, and actually quite enjoyed the experience today.

A good day had by everyone, including Megan who had a good look around whilst being carried by me - far easier than pushing a pram up and down stairs!
