Machrie Moor
Have had a great time on Arran, despite weather we've managed to get out & about. took the car for a drive round the North of the Island, seeing as we managed round most of the South yesterday.
These are some of the standing stones on the west of the Island at near Marchie, the tallest of which comes in at just over 18ft tall. The info on these suggests that they may have been part of a burial site for important people.
It's humbling to think that these stones have stood firm for over 2000 years, and when we're all long gone they'll most likely still be there.
