Nice. Day 3.

I tried over and over again to upload this in my hotel on Friday night but never got any further than filling in this description text. Poor old Blip never got past step 3 because of the really flakey internet connection.

Anyway, all I wanted to say was that I got the impression that the population of Nice is on the young side, with lots of students to be seen all around, many of them with motor bikes or scooters as their preferred mode of transport. This group were lounging around near the National Theatre.

It had rained overnight and it was generally dull and grey all day, with fairly persistent light drizzle all day -- an ideal opportunity to get a day pass and use trams and buses to get around rather than the leg power I'd used up to this. I got to see a bit more of the city, finishing off by wandering aimlessly round the narrow, confusing lanes in the old town, stumbling on a really pleasant bar where I settled down for an hour or two. I ate near my hotel, in a place which turned out to specialise in organic food, including some rather weird blue pasta which wasn't very appealing.
