Bitter sweet

It is my friend Mac's 60th birthday-he's the bald git 2nd from right! His wife has organised a surprise party tonight. All he knew was that he had to be ready for 6.30. My hubby picked him up and brought him to our house for a celebratory glass of bubbly. Then my son took us to a nearby pub where 50 plus friends gathered.
He retired yesterday and on Monday he and his wife are to set out to their house in Crete. Up til now they have only been out there for 2 or 3 weeks twice a year. now with the freedom of retirement they are off for 2 months. We will miss them.
