I'd hoped that I'd be able to use the time whilst the wingpiglet was at a party to wander into the off-centre of Livingston, pick up some cheap Creme and Mini Eggs and test the ability of OSM-using mapping software on the way. Unfortunately it still took me half the time available to get to the place which might have had cheap egg-products whereupon I found that they barely had any at full price. I did at least discover the reason why the various Shopping Outlet Village Glen things in Livingston have pavements around their outsides (despite being deeply inconvenient and wastefully-routed and fairly useless for providing an alternative to driving into them) which is simply because all the shoppers need somewhere to smoke whilst walking between premises.
