Think, try, share

Thaxted

I was out seeing a client this morning. Nothing unusual in that. I normally travel everywhere by train but this client was in a remote location so I had to drive.

I stopped off in Thaxted to photograph what I thought was going to be my Blip today, Thaxted Church. I took my shot. Then I turned and this door instantly caught my eye, with it's peeling paint and vibrant colour. I half expected Caratacus Potts to open the door and take Chitty for a run in the country.

I never expected that. But sometimes such moments make the best pictures.

On the drive home I found out on Radio 4 that Gustav Holst finished 'Mars' in 1914. Holst lived for a time in Thaxted.
