Renewal

For the last two Christmases, I had a live Christmas tree in a pot, which survived -- and indeed got a lot bigger -- between one year and the next. But soon after this last Christmas, the tree got bugs, shrivelled up and turned completely brown. So I put it outside where it wouldn't infect anything else before I got around to tossing it. And then low and behold, in the last couple of weeks, it put out some new green shoots. So not completely dead after all.
