Dragons and Damsels 1: Large Red Damselfly
The weather has been so dull, and very blustery today, so I decided to stay at home and get a few things done around the house. I certainly hadn't expected to be able to do a wildlife blip, but when I went out briefly to inspect the garden, I found that our first pond damsel of the year had materialised. I have always planned to "collect" these lovely creatures in my photo journal in the same way as I do birds and butterflies and although I got a couple of photos at RSPB Old Moor last week, the bird took priority. The focus is not as sharp as I would have liked, but given the conditions, I guess it's not TOO bad. If you like this, there are more (and better) photos of D&Ds taken over the last couple of years here on Flickr
Doing the next leg of the Sheffield Country Walk tomorrow, so hoping I'll see some nice wildlife on the way. Forecast isn't brilliant, but hopefully, it'll stay dry at least.
