If You Think You're Beaten, You Are

Today was the last track practice for a lot of people. I still have practice because I'm running in an invitational on Saturday. I don't want track to end :( I'll have nothing to do after school! Well, there's always....homework....

We had a nice little meeting after practice where Frazer talked about how track is more of a mental sport she read this poem by Kristone:

If You Think You're Beaten

If you think you're beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost for sure, you won't.

If you think you're losing, you've lost.
For out in the world we find -
Success begins with a person's will,
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you're outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise.
You have to stay with it,
In order to win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go,
To the one with the better plan.
For more often than not, you will win,
If only you think you can.

It was nice and very true. If you think you're going to have a bad race, you are.

Divisions tomorrow. I'm a little worried. I'm only running the 3200 so I can run it fresh but it's not my best race. I'll deal with it tomorrow and I'll run however I run.

This is my sister and my dog again. It was gray all day and I wasn't in a blipping mood.

Word of the Day: Nonplus - To render utterly perplexed; puzzle completely
