Things we take for granted

Talk of a bus strike later this week, fingers crossed it doesn't happen. Took ages to get home tonight to find the whole university in darkness - the roadworks on the street outside managed to cut through the power lines, leaving us with no power! The security guards were turning everyone away as they arrived for classes, but we had no choice since we live there.

Great atmosphere though - everyone out talking, sharing candles, sitting round and doing nothing really.

Best thing about having no electricity - an excuse to light heaps of candles :)
