Sounds of summer

I believe this variety of plant is a catoneaster but I'm not altogether sure given that I'm not a gardening variety of homo sapiens.
All summer long it whines and buzzes as bees and wasps dance around the flowers.
I don't know why they bother - these flowers are tiny!
