Hairband

I put this hairband in this morning, and it stayed in all day! It's based on a very in-vogue hairstyle, following in the fashion footsteps of one of her contemporaries. She hasnt once pulled it off, and went to the mirror admiring it so knew it was still there. It's been a long day - 4.53 she woke for the day. We'd not had a brilliant night. But today made up for it. A lovely day.

We went to tea and toast this morning for a bit. When it was time to leave, she gave big cuddles over and over to Emma and Harrison. Harrison lent over her and so gently kissed her forehead. It was very sweet! As soon as I put her in the car, before we'd even got off the courtyard we live round, she was fast asleep. I had a few bits to do, and she carried on sleeping in the buggy.

After her sleep, I had a bit of a surprise for her - we met Ava and her mummy and went for an extra swim! They were so excited. I let Katie go at one point and she floated on her back before having a kick and a brief swim. The two of them were laughing like mad when I chucked water over them. Katie begged for "more more" and Ava presented me with a watering can to do it again. They went round and round the pool, both of them were doing fantastic. And they had almost as much fun in the showers after, over and over we had to put them on!

We went to Jack's house after swimming. The two of them were bouncing around his room, hurling themselves in his ball pool. I had to pop home to sign for a delivery, so Katie stayed. When I got back, Jack's mum said she'd counted to 6 (but missed out 4). I've heard her do 1, 2, 3 and separately heard her do 5,6 but not all together. The two of them were playing pouring games with a massive tub of mega bloks and thought it was very funny.

Our final stop of the day was a birthday party for one of our friends. It was pretty crazy considering how comparatively few children there were, but there were 6 boys between 4 and 7years and they went nuts! Katie ate really well and was running around tidying up, putting the rubbish in the bin extremely proudly!
