What a lot of fuss....
....so, old Queeny has been visiting the good citizens of Dublin who've turned-out in their hundreds to greet her (Ok, I'm exaggerating on the numbers). The empty streets and fencing around the city have something of lock-down feel about it; how similar to conditions of 1921 I wonder? The footage of the Royal party of six rattling about in Croke Park, a stadium built for 82,000, is surreal; especially since 50,000 Portuguese football fans were noisily making their way to the nearby Lansdowne Road Aviva Stadium for the Europa Cup Final.
Meanwhile, whilst we were being distracted by the settling of old scores across the Irish Sea, the great politicians of this nation decided to sneak out the back door with a signed cheque for £20bn to buy a replacement for Trident......what an appalling waste of my money, or an increase in the value of my share in the national debt, to be more precise. We could build another 4 aircraft carriers, for which we have no aircraft, for that price.
