Happisburgh coastal erosion
At last a blip which does not involve a church or a flower! I went to Happisburgh (pronounced Hazeborough) today to photograph the coastal erosion. The cliffs are vanishing continually along that stretch, whole houses have vanished into the brine below. People have seen their homes and businesses crash into the sea, it's quite heartbreaking.
The photo I have chosen doesn't show the deserted properties, or even fully show the extent of just how hard people have tried to defend the cliffs from the ravages of the sea. I just chose it for its lovely textures. This post is just part of the incredible structure that has been erected to try take some of the impact of winter storms and tides. The other pictures I took just didn't do the area justice so I will have to go back and take some more. In the mean time, anyone wishing to see more can easily do a google search for more pics and info.
