3 out of 3

Speedy was representing his school today, there is something special about that. Lots of very happy kids, lots of medals won and I get to take photos and share them with parents later so I was happy too.

He wanted to break the long jump record for the event - a Primary inter School competition held every year a the local Secondary school. Much to his delight 4m 3cm jumped was plenty far to do the job! Still waiting to see if he broke the 600m record (hadn't though he might and didn't check) he certainly ran a cracking race and beat his own PB for the distance.

The best bit of the afternoon for me however was to watch him help and encourage his team mates. One of the girls L had got through to the final of the 60m as fastest loser and S had noticed no one dipped at the finish line, a quick lesson before the final and a perfectly executed dip gave L the gold and a smile to make anyone's day.

Last leg of the relay was right up his street to so it was 3 gold medals out of 3 events for the Speedy boy yesterday but the best gold was the one he coached his class mate to win in the girls 60m - brilliant.
