Shiny black insect
I wish we could have some calm, sunny days again - the wind has made taking close-ups really difficult!
Lots of insects about today. Loads of ladybird larvae and mating ladybirds on the nettles. No damselflies though - not enough sun?
I think this might be a black slip wasp - possibly a female due to the long spike (ovipositor?) at the back. I need to do some revision on insect identification!
Tried to find the spiderlings again today but couldn't see them at all - they were well hidden in the hedge. Hope they didn't make a nice snack for a passing bird....
Quiet day in the office - busy trying to make sure we have a journal issue for July after all the recent bank holidays. A power cut just before home time didn't help matters. Day of training on Windows 7 and Office 2010 tomorrow in preparation for our new PCs on Friday or early next week.
