Roadtrip Day 8: Drive to Wanaka

We had some improvement in the weather today and were able to dry off the tent in sunshine before moving on. We headed south again along the Hass river down to Wanaka. We were lucky enough to enjoy a beautiful evening in Wanaka along the waterfront. Had some great Indian food including Kashmiri Khawa Tea (amazing!)

Ingredients:
Green Tea
Fresh Green Cardamom
Saffron
Ginger
(traditionally sometimes cinnamon and/or cloves plus almonds)

Campground review for Wingpig: Top 10 Wanaka
Not too shabby. Not quite as nice as some other Top 10's for facilities (it has only two shower of each gender for the whole park), but it has the benefit of being in a nice quiet location just out of town. The tent camping spots are at the bottom (some near the main road) but if you pay just a bit more for a powered site there are some nicer spots way up on top of the hill with great views.
