Hail on the Autobahn

Sunday evening returning home from a family visit to father-in-law to deliver eggs & get tomato, pepper, cucumber & aubergine plants in return. On the motorway A96 Munich to Lake Constance near Landsberg am Lech, traffic came to a standstill. The temperature had dropped to 3°C, it hailed heavily and covered the road. As most have now put on their summer tyres, driving became tricky.By the time I thought of getting out the mobile & taking a photo, most of the hail was gone.

Not a sensation but I simply wanted to record it to explain a large amount of snow in the alps on my photo for Wednesday 18th May.
