Waves

We have been experiencing some extremely high tides recently here in Zihuatanejo Bay. Our wide, inviting beach has been transformed into a wave-raked mess with ridges formed by the eroding waves and debris deposited across the sand. I set out to capture the incoming tide exploding off the beachside restaurant La Gaviota at the south end of Playa La Ropa. I have numerous photos of the waves splashing high up the face of the beachfront wall, but thought this composite of two images taken within 10 seconds of each other showed the power of the tide better than any single image. The people on the rock were clearly not ready for the large tidal surge and corresponding wave.
