The Long and Winding Road

Took a drive through the Imbros Gorge to Hora Skafion then Frangokastello. This is the winding & snaking road down out of the gorge back to sea level again. It is one of the better roads in Crete, been widened & resurfaced over the past few years, most are half this size with potholes the size of sheep and these wondering & sleeping in the road !!.

After a bite to eat by the Castle, we had hoped for a couple of hours on the beach before going back, however as soon as we hit the sand the clouds came over, so we headed back, through torrential rain which bounced a good foot back off the road so you couldn't see the road at times !

The good news was that back at the hotel the sun was back :-)
